Sheet S-105Google Business Profile
Google Business Profile optimization for contractors
Google Business Profile optimization is the work of making your Google listing accurate, complete and active so Google can match it to local searches. Summit AI Solutions offers it to Florida contractors as a one-time project covering categories, photos and posting cadence.
S-105.1 · Scope
What Google Business Profile optimization covers
The GBP Optimization project is a tune-up of your Google profile. It is a one-time project at $499.
- 01CategoriesOne primary category that matches the work you want most, plus secondary categories that fit.
- 02PhotosYour own project photos, not stock images passed off as your work.
- 03Posting cadenceA steady rhythm of profile posts so the listing stays active.
Want the website and local SEO handled too? That is the website, Google profile and SEO package. Every price is on the pricing page.
S-105.2 · How ranking works
How Google ranks local results, in plain terms
Google says local results come from three factors: relevance, distance and prominence.
Relevance
How well your profile matches what the person searched for. Complete, accurate details help Google understand what you do.
Distance
How far your business is from the person searching. You cannot move your customers, but you can keep your service area honest.
Prominence
How well known your business is. Google says it is also based on how many websites link to your business and how many reviews you have.
Optimization works on what you control. It does not change distance, and Google says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. Reviews are covered by the Review Engine.
S-105.3 · The audit
What we check in a profile audit
Eight things. The Google Business Profile checklist walks through them if you want to look yourself first.
- 01CategoriesIs the primary category the right one, and do the secondary ones fit?
- 02ServicesAre your real services listed, with clear names?
- 03DescriptionDoes it say what you do and where, in plain words, without stuffed keywords?
- 04HoursDo they match the hours you actually answer and work?
- 05PhotosAre they recent, real and of your own work?
- 06ReviewsDo you have them, and are you replying to them?
- 07PostsHas the profile been updated lately?
- 08Name, address, phoneDo they match your website and other listings exactly?
S-105.4 · Suspension safe
Suspension-safe hygiene
Google says it may suspend profiles that do not follow its guidelines, and a suspended profile is removed from public view. These habits keep you inside the guidelines.
- Keep the name plain. Google's name guidelines say the name must not include service or location information, so no keywords and no city added to the name.
- Use an address that qualifies. Google says P.O. boxes, mailboxes at remote locations and virtual offices that do not operate from that location are not acceptable. Google also says service-area businesses should hide their address.
- Keep hours accurate. Customers plan around them, so list the hours you actually keep.
- Ask honestly for reviews. Google prohibits offering incentives for reviews and selectively soliciting positive reviews. Ask every customer.
- Make changes one at a time. If something goes wrong, you know what caused it.
If it has already happened, read what to do if your Google Business Profile is suspended. Also check who owns your website and Google Business Profile.
S-105.5 · Your part
What the owner has to provide
We cannot tune what we cannot reach, and we will not guess about your business.
- Access to your profile. Owner or manager access to the Google account that holds it. Timelines depend on how quickly we get this.
- Accurate business details. Your services, service area, hours and phone number, confirmed by you.
- Real photos. Pictures of your own crew and finished work.
- A decision on the address. Whether you serve customers at your location or travel to them, which decides if the address is shown or hidden.
Google Business Profile questions
What is Google Business Profile optimization?
It is the work of making your Google listing accurate, complete and active. The goal is to give Google clear, correct information so it can match your business to local searches. Our GBP Optimization project covers categories, photos and posting cadence.
How is this different from the Basecamp package?
Basecamp includes Google Business Profile setup and optimization as part of the website and local SEO plan. GBP Optimization is a $499 one-time boost. Compare both on the pricing page.
Can you guarantee I will show up in the map results?
No, and be careful with anyone who does. Google decides who appears and in what order, using relevance, distance and prominence. We can fix what is under your control and show you what we changed.
Who owns my Google Business Profile?
You should. Your profile should sit under an account you control, with us added as a manager if you want help. We ask for owner or manager access before any work starts.
What if my profile gets suspended?
Google says it may suspend profiles that do not follow its guidelines. Use Google's appeals tool, and consider adding proof such as business registration, a license, tax certificates or utility bills that show your business name and address. Google says not to create a new profile for the same business while an appeal is under review. Our guide on suspended profiles walks through it.
